Selecting the right finishes can be difficult and overwhelming, especially when you know you are likely to have them in your house for 5+ years. I have some tips and suggestions to overcome this struggle.
Research, Research, Research - everything is accessible on the internet these days, which makes it easy to get ideas. Who even buys a home magazine from Home Depot anymore?
Put together vision boards, or take pictures to see "The whole picture". You make selections at different times throughout the remodel or home-building process. I recommend you keep pictures handy on your phone to reference often. I prefer that you keep samples in your car when driving around to different places. Tile, granite, backsplash, paint, furniture, decor, accents, layout, etc are all equally important. I kept pictures of our blueprints and would sketch in the furniture to visualize the layout.
